March Flash Fiction

This month there’s no specific genre, but I’d like to see some dialogue, so, you have up to 350 words to use (including the title), and your entry must commence with the words –

As she turned away, she said, “Really?” …

Entries must be in by midnight on Wednesday 20th March 2019. Voting will open soon after and close at 11.59pm on Monday 25th. The winner will be announced at the Members Night on Wednesday 27 March 2019 at The Bunch Of Grapes Hotel in Pleasant Street.

Conditions of entry

Your entry must be sent as an attachment to an email file. In the email make sure to include your name, the title of your entry, and the word count of your entry not including the words in the title of your entry.


  1. Be in 12 point, Times New Roman font.
  2. Have single line spacing.
  3. Have a title.
  4. Be submitted as a word.doc, or .docx file, (PDF files lose all formatting in their transition) If you use PAGES on a Mac then you can still save the document as a .docx file.
  5. You must be a current member of Ballarat Writers.
  6. One entry per member.

Judging may be moderated by non-entering member readers.
